Bucharest, Romania

University description (as per official university website)

The Institute for Business Administration in Bucharest was set up by law as a fully accredited private institution of public utility, part of our national system of education (Law 252/June 30/2009, MO 462/July 3, 2009) in order to comply with the Bologna agreement.(download document)

The Institute for Business Administration in Bucharest (ASEBUSS) was founded in 1993 through a program financed by USAID - The United States Agency of International Development.

Since 1993, The Romanian-American School of Business, part of the Institute, has been organizing the Executive MBA Program (Executive MBA) - the only American Executive MBA on the Romanian market - in partnership with prestigious US universities.
Between 1993-2003 the Executive MBA program was offered in cooperation with University of Washington, Seattle. Beginning with 1995, IBAB is self-financed through the Romanian-American Postgraduate School of Business Foundation- ASEBUSS.

Starting from 2003, ASEBUSS has developed a new international partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU), Atlanta -Georgia. Kennesaw State University is recognized internationally, being ranked as one of the leading Executive MBA programs in the United States by Business Week, Success Magazine, and U.S. News & World Report.

The Executive MBA program of Kennesaw State University- Atlanta is in TOP 25 Executive MBA programs in North America, according to the most recent ranking made by the prestigious economic journal CEO Magazine- august 2009. This recognition states one more time that Kennesaw's main concerns are global education, innovation, partnerships and different programs accross various regions.

KSU has the AACSB international accreditation and has recently obtained the European accreditation, EFMD- Equis.

The new format of the Romanian- American Executive MBA program offers our students a greater international exposure. One of the most valuable - and exclusive- global learning opportunities we offer involves a virtual and face-to face international teaming experience with over 60 Executive MBA students from our partner university Kennesaw State.

Currently, ASEBUSS is an independent institution, authorized and accredited by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports to organize academic programs according to the school's mission.

The activity of ASEBUSS is oriented in two main areas:

Romanian-American Executive MBA program, - a two-years accredited program, recognized nationally and internationally
Executive Education programs within EXEC-EDU - 3 weeks to 9 months open and customized courses, that have been continuously tailored to the changing needs of the market
EXEC-EDU is the company founded by ASEBUSS in 2005, after it has offered executive education programs within ASEBUSS Continuing Education department from 1996. Our offer has continuously diversified, meeting the ever more complex training needs of managers and their organizations.

EXEC-EDU organizes over 40 managerial education programs: intensive modules, certification programs and customized programs for companies.

Mission Statement of ASEBUSS
“We create a class of competitive leaders able to do business with peers from all over the world, who are equipped with the mindset, skills and understanding required in an increasingly dynamic global business environment.

The Institute for Business Administration curriculum and delivery model are designed to provide Business Education Programs which meet the standards set by leading business schools. Shaped by innovative and continuously improved teaching methodology, our programs encourage teamwork and collaboration among accomplished managers from a wide variety of organizations acting primarily in Romania. We target managers with high potential, dynamic, highly motivated, flexible and open to knowledge and new experiences, willing to improve their leadership skills.

Committed to continuous improvement, The Institute for Business Administration fosters a learning experience that connects theory with practice, promotes critical thinking, ethical decision making, and action orientation. Participants learn to manage across cultural, linguistic, technological and geographical boundaries by working within national and international teams of executives to comply with a variety of assignments and projects.

We select, retain and develop a talented pool of faculty and staff who produce high quality applied and results oriented disciplines taught in an integrative way in our business programs. The production of practice, pedagogical and discipline based research is a permanent commitment for each member of our learning community of faculty, students and staff.”
