Grand Valley State University's main campus is located almost midway between downtown Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan, in the town of Allendale. This contemporary campus offers all the features you'd expect from a residential college.
Grand Valley State University is a public institution located in West Michigan and offers over 200 areas of study including 69 undergraduate majors and 26 graduate programs. Grand Valley is committed to providing each undergraduate student a broad educational experience that integrates liberal learning with preparation for career or profession. The graduate programs at Grand Valley State University are designed for students, who as a result of their work experience or undergraduate education, are interested in expanding or continuing their professional education. Their highest priority is to offer outstanding teaching in all of our undergraduate and graduate programs.
Scholarships
Grand Valley State University offers academic-based competitive scholarships to qualified international applicants. Available to both undergraduate and graduate applicants, these scholarships were established to recognize the high level of academic achievement of students coming to our campus from throughout the world. Recipients are selected in February of each year.
Masters degree applicants who present exceptional academic preparation and performance may be considered for a graduate assistantship, if available from the academic department to which they are applying for admission. Recipients of a Graduate Assistantship are not also eligible for an academic scholarship.
International applicants must apply for admission and submit all required documentation by February 1 to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarships are awarded for Fall entry ONLY. Please be aware that there are NO additional scholarships available upon arrival at Grand Valley.
Newly admitted international students pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree may be considered for the following scholarships, depending on their qualifications. Full time enrollment, completion of a specified number of credits, and maintenance of your immigration status is required to renew the scholarship. If a certain grade point average is required from Grand Valley at the end of each year to renew the scholarship, it is listed below.
