Frederick University is dedicated to providing high quality education through teaching and research in the areas of Technology, Business, Art and Design, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences as well as a systematic contribution to the wider social context.
The university's main objectives are:
the promotion of science, knowledge and education through teaching and research aiming at the enhancement of society in general,
dissemination, application and scientific exchange of knowledge and
the provision of high quality, internationally recognized undergraduate and postgraduate education.
At Frederick the education offered is of high quality and leads to accredited qualifications that ensure the University‚s graduates professional career and advancement in Cyprus and abroad. Our faculty is encouraged to explore new ideas in teaching, learning and research, and to pursue educational objectives inspired by the privilege of scholarly inquiry, and in accord with Frederick University ethos and stated principles. Frederich University is committed to fruitful partnership and cooperation with other educational institutions, industry, society and government for the purpose of advancing knowledge, strengthening productivity and creating conditions conducive to the betterment of life in the 21st-century.
History of the University
Frederick University was established after a decision by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus in September 2007. The University, responding to the challenge set by the relevant law in 2005 that allowed for the establishment of private universities in Cyprus submitted an application and after a thorough and meticulous evaluation by the Evaluation Committee for Private Universities was amongst the first private universities to be granted license of operation.
The establishment of the university was achieved following the forty-two year successful route of Frederick Institute of Technology, an accredited institute of higher education which is still operating.
Frederick University started operating from the Fall 2007 academic semester with six Schools.
