The Art University of Graz (KUG)

The Art University of Graz (KUG) and its is over 2000 students in Graz and Oberschützen an internationally renowned training center - to 17 institutions and two doctoral schools, it offers high-quality teaching for artistic and scientific professions. The thirteen study stage design, performing arts (drama), composition and music theory, conducting, singing, instrumental (Voice) pedagogy, instrumental studies, jazz - as the oldest academic training in Europe -, church music, teaching music education, Electrical Engineering (jointly with the Technical University of Graz), musicology (with the Karl-Franzens-University Graz) and the artistic and the scientific doctoral studies are each essential to the art and science focus.

Unity of art, science and teaching

The KUG combines development and enhancement of the Arts (EEK) and research with university teaching. The international comparison of widely diversified scientific area benefits from the vibrant music making - the artists in turn mature in scientific reflection. A functional and modern infrastructure, as well as numerous guest courses, workshops and public performance opportunities offer an optimal design of the study.

The artistic and scientific activities of some 400 distinguished faculty acts directly in the teaching, thus ensuring an excellent and practical language instruction. Thanks to this highly personal service, the KUG recorded a number of very successful graduates.
