The Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau is a modern, inter-university providers. It is a partner of the students at the Technical University of Chemnitz and Zwickau (FH). While it is the duty of universities to provide for the spiritual support, we help students to master their everyday lives.
As a public institution, we ensure the social, economic, health and cultural needs of over 15,000 students. Our approximately 160 employees ensure a balanced and affordable meals in the dining halls and cafeterias, with around 2,800 hostel places offer affordable and attractive housing for students and are partners in matters of study. Every year we pay about € 21 million funding under the Federal Training Assistance Act in the Chemnitz and Zwickau students.
Furthermore, we support and fund student cultural help with free legal assistance, social counseling and psychological counseling, maintaining its own hardship fund for students in emergency situations and for all the students have completed a recreational accident.
In a special way we lie the interests of disadvantaged students, students with children, students with disabilities and students from abroad at heart.
Financed by a variety of tasks of the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau by the proceeds from the dining halls, cafeterias and dormitories, with government grants and by the mandatory contributions of Chemnitz and Zwickau students. The compulsory contributions will be collected upon enrollment in universities and passed on to us, since summer 2008, the amount is € 54.50 per semester.
