Technische Universität Braunschweig
Braunschweig, Germany

University description (as per official university website)

Ten of many good reasons for the Technische Universität Braunschweig

Good reputation and tradition: the TU Braunschweig is the oldest technical university in Germany: the cornerstone of our modern university was already laid in the year 1745 with the Collegium Carolinum.

Interdisciplinary study – interdisciplinary courses of study: The TU is precursor in this field. The first interdisciplinary courses of study have already been introduced here in the 1980s. Today, approximately every third student is enrolled in one of the interdisciplinary courses of study. The look beyond one's own course of study is obligatory for all.

Thinking and research in networks and projects: interdisciplinary research centers and competence networks in the key technologies promote scientific performances.

Research live and very close: the Technische Universität Braunschweig is linchpin in the »city of research«; more than twenty research institutes on site provide excellent possibilities for scientists and students.

Professional competence and key qualifications hand in hand: Soft skills are a must, also in the engineering and natural sciences disciplines. We promote (and demand) your whole personality. We do not only offer an excellent support relation but also outstandingly qualified teachers, instructors and lecturers – not without purpose is the center of competence for university didactics of Lower Saxony located here.

Chances for practical experience included: possibilities for internships, jobs and diploma theses in local companies and institutes are part of our education.

University of short distances: all TU Braunschweig facilities as well as the city center are easily reachable by bike.

Internationality live: studying, doing research and living at our partner universities worldwide and with our international students here.

Internet for everyone: every student automatically receives e-mail access and webspace for a personal homepage. Of course, all books and magazines of the university library can be found and ordered online.

From early work out to nightlife: over 80 sports are offered and more than twenty theaters, music or dancing groups can be joined or enjoyed.
