The University of Lüneburg is a young university, which is a mirror of Higher Education in Germany: We're looking at 60 years institutional history at a site that has a centuries-long history of education. Founded in 1946 in Lüneburg on the initiative of a British educational institution. It should contribute by training teachers to build a new democratic tradition in Germany.
The PH Lüneburg was - after years as a department of the University of Education Lower Saxony - in 1978 alone to a university with doctoral and postdoctoral law. In the eighties, the professional spectrum was expanded by the Economic, Social and Cultural Studies, in the nineties, founded an environmental science department.
