United Theological College of Montreal
Montreal, Canada

University description (as per official university website)

Who we are

A Theological College of the United Church of Canada, we are a diverse community of students preparing for varied ministries in our denomination and others.

An affirming ministry of the United Church, we embrace the multiplicity and diversity of all God’s people and welcome all who wish to prepare for ministry, study and grow in faith.

A community of students, staff and faculty which worships together, supports one another in prayer, welcomes one another in fellowship, laughs and learns together.

A learning community committed to ecumenical learning in partnership with our sister Colleges and the Faculty of Religious Studies of McGill University as the Montreal School of Theology.

If you would like to know more about who we are, please visit the various pages of our website which tell you more about our Faculty and Staff, our Student Life, our partners in theological education.

Mission Statement
The United Theological College/Le Séminaire Uni is committed to the preparation of lay and order of ministry persons for a variety of Christian ministries within communities of faith and the world. This preparation for faithful ministry takes seriously:
the formation of an inclusive community of learners and staff with respect for diversity of race, economic status, sexual orientation and gender identity.
the cultural and linguistic contexts of Québec, Canada and the global village.
the interaction of the academic study of theology and the practice of ministry.
the ecumenical spirit of cooperation with other denominations and other faiths.
We will seek to live out this mission under the guidance of our Creator God, walking with the risen Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Overview of UTC Programs

UTC /SU offers the Master of Divinity degree for those preparing for accountable ministries in the United Church of Canada and other Christian denominations:

The United Theological College/ Le Séminaire Uni is also actively committed to life-long Christian Development and Faith Formation to equip all people for their own Christian mission and ministry in the Church and the world.

Continuing Education events for those currently in accountable ministries are held throughout the year, both at the College, and at various locations in the region, in order to make our programmes as accessible as possible.
