About Our College
King's University College is a Catholic educational institution affiliated with The University of Western Ontario (Western). Founded in 1954, the College provides general and honours degree programs in the liberal arts, social sciences, and social work, and a master's degree in social work. Sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of London, the College is a community of some 3,000 Canadian and 270 international students, 167 full-time and 96 part-time faculty, staff, and professional and administrative officers. It is renowned as a centre of teaching excellence positioned in the top rank of institutions of higher learning in Canada for the quality of its teaching faculty. Not only do its faculty teach remarkably well, but their scholarship continues to enhance King's reputation as one of Canada's first-class undergraduate colleges. The students are supported in their academic endeavours by a full range of student development and personal counselling services.
By 2009-10, the College anticipates enrolment levelling off at 3,300 full-time equivalent students. This expansion will be managed in a way that enhances both academic programming and classroom, office and communal space; balances accessibility with a commitment to improving the academic quality of the student body; and maintains the core values of King's as a Catholic university college. During this period, the College will reach the limits of growth on its current land base.
King's is a Catholic University College committed to the ongoing creation of a vital academic community animated by a Christian love of learning and the pursuit of truth. The College strives to foster an environment based on open inquiry, Christian values and service to the larger community.
King's stands second to no other institution of higher learning, large or small, in this country in the quality of its teaching faculty.
Small classes, intensive student/faculty interaction, quality programs, comprehensive student services and a sense of community create an excellent environment for students. Combined with Western's world class facilities and reputation, King's offers 'The Best of Both Worlds'.
