University description (as per official university website)
An education at the University of Portland will help prepare you for a successful and meaningful career in medicine, law, engineering, teaching, business, and more. University of Portland graduates are regarded as creative, effective leaders and ethical decision makers. Our students are sought by some of the nation's top companies and are admitted to the country's top graduate schools.
UP is known as one of the top ten universities in the West. With a focus on educating hearts and minds, the University of Portland helps students learn to lead both successful personal and professional lives.
The Office of Admissions staff knows how important it is to find the right academic and personal fit in a college. Our job is to make that as easy as possible. Our admission counselors are frequently visiting your schools, at college fairs and are readily available for appointments when you come to visit UP.
A high-quality, personalized education at the University of Portland is an investment in each student’s future success. We recognize that some students and their families may need assistance to meet some of their college costs. We encourage all students who apply to the University of Portland to also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which allows us to consider you for financial aid. The role of the Office of Financial Aid is to try to help fill the gap that exists between the cost of attendance and funds available from your family.
While we try to meet as much of your financial need as possible, funding is limited. In order to take full advantage of the aid programs available at the University of Portland and to receive maximum consideration of your funding needs, important timelines and procedures must be followed. This site is designed to assist you and your family with that process.
