Pasadena, United States- California

University description (as per official university website)

Pacific Oaks College (in Pasadena, California as well as online) is an upper-division, accredited institution offering bachelorís, masterís, and certificate programs in human development, counseling, and teaching credentialing.

Founded more than 60 years ago by a small group of Quaker families, Pacific Oaks College is dedicated to the fundamental Quaker principles of inclusion, social justice, and the valuing of every human being. The institution is known and recognized for its pioneering efforts to reduce bias within our nationís education system, and for equipping graduates with the skills they need to help people from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and strengths uncover and realize their unique individual potentials.
Three basic concepts underlie the educational philosophy at Pacific Oaks:

* that every individual has a fundamental worth;
* that growth is a dynamic and life-long process;
* and that every individual has a unique identity and human potential.

Students report that attending Pacific Oaks College is a transforming experience, enabling them to emerge empowered to stand up for themselves and othersóand to help those they serve become all they can be. Our graduates have gone on to become teachers, counselors, policy-makers, college instructors, early childhood program directors, and parent education specialists.

Financial Aid

Pacific Oaks College has a long history of providing educational opportunities to qualified students from all types of economic backgrounds. Many families are concerned that their resources are not sufficient to meet the cost of a private undergraduate or graduate education; others assume that their income is too high to qualify for financial assistance.

Managing the costs of obtaining an education, particularly at a private college, is a challenge for most families. We in the financial aid office, encourage all students who are interested in attending Pacific Oaks College to apply for admissions and financial aid, regardless of family financial circumstances. Approximately 86% of the students attending Pacific Oaks in this last year received some form of financial aid.

The Pacific Oaks community and Financial Aid Office staff are committed to making Pacific Oaks College an affordable experience for you and your family. It is our pleasure to take this opportunity to share with you some important information on financial aid here at Pacific Oaks.
