Hastings College is a private, undergraduate, four-year, residential liberal arts college. It was founded in 1882 by a group of men and women seeking to establish a Presbyterian-related college dedicated to high academic and cultural standards – traits that still apply over 125 years later.
Our home is Hastings, Nebraska – a friendly, progressive, fun college town of 25,000.
The Hastings College campus is situated on 109 beautifully landscaped acres. Within that space sits 40 buildings spanning from the traditional McCormick Hall built in 1883 to the gleaming Osborne Family Sports Complex / Fleharty Educational Center built in 2002 and the ultra-comfortable Bronco Village student apartments completed in 2006. An outdoor track complex was completed in 2007 and The Morrison-Reeves Science Center, a brand new state of the art student learning facility, is scheduled to be completed in 2009.
Hastings College is named in the 2008 edition of America's Best Value Colleges published by The Princeton Review , ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, America's Best Colleges 2008, named a 2009 "'Best College in the Midwestern Region" by The Princeton Review , listed by Kaplan/Newsweek as one of "America's 369 Most Interesting Schools," and recognized among the top liberal arts colleges in America by The Washington Monthly

LOCATION
Located in a friendly, progressive community of 24,000 in south central Nebraska. With access to Interstate 80, Hastings is two and a half hours west of Omaha, six hours east of Denver and five hours northwest of Kansas City. The community is served by Amtrak and a regional airport.
CAMPUS
Situated on 109 beautifully landscaped acres, the campus offers an inviting mix of traditional landmarks and contemporary academic buildings - all with an architecture designed around red brick and a Georgian flavor. Forty buildings span historic McCormick Hall, built in 1883, to the Bronco Village Apartments for juniors and seniors, built in 2004 and 2005. The Fleharty Educational Center and Lynn Farrell Arena were dedicated in 2002. Lloyd Wilson Field for football and soccer and an outdoor tennis complex were completed in 2000.
FACULTY
Seventy-four percent of full-time, tenure-track faculty have doctorates or the highest degrees in their field. Student/faculty ratio is 12:1.
STUDENTS
The student body of approximately 1,190 represents 23 states and six foreign countries. Of the freshmen enrolled in 2005, 37 percent were in the top 25 percent of their high school class and had an average ACT score of 23. The student body differes in religious, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds and forms a well-rounded college community.
PROGRAM
Hastings College confers bachelor of arts, bachelor of music and master of arts in teaching degrees. Offering 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs, Hastings College also offers a personalized program designed for students wanting to tailor a course of study. Students can study abroad with connections to England, the Netherlands, Germany, Northern Ireland, and Thailand among others.
