Virginia Theological University was created as a non denominational research and teaching institution. The University is a Monotheist University and it invites students from around the world to conduct scientific research in the faculties of Theological; History, Philosophy, law, Counseling, the Old Testament, New Testament, & the Quran. Virginia Theological University has been on line since 1995. It was the first Theological University to offer on line education in the United States.

It is the University's mission to teach comparative religions with specialization in Islam.

Fellowship for College of Theoretical Sciences is granted to students admitted to the Virginia Lynch Institute of Theoretical Sciences.

Research Fellowship leads to the Designation of: Virginia Fellow.
Associate Research Fellow additionally earns the designation of: Richmond Scholar.

Research Fellowship is granted to the Seville Institute of Foreign Affairs, for the Seville Journal of Foreign Affairs.
