University description (as per official university website)
Undergraduate:
DEGREES OFFERED: CIU's Undergraduate College offers Associate of Arts (A.A.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees as well as an extensive Bible Certificate program.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: Every program is designed to assist students in forming spiritual disciplines and a biblical concept of self and community, in knowing God's Word, in gaining understanding about God's creation through General Education studies, and in acquiring leadership competencies for ministry in the home, the church, and in vocational service. Every graduate completes at least one major: Bible. Most graduates complete two majors: one in Bible and another in a professional area of study.
FINANCIAL AID: CIU recognizes the tremendous pressure students and their families face in funding a college education today. Currently $1.5 million dollars of institutional aid is raised each year to help students afford college. Students also have access to federal, state and private aid through grants and loans which amounted to approximately $6.4 million dollars last year.
Graduate:
Seminary & School of Missions:
- Biblical Ministries Certificate
- Master of Arts (MA)
- Master of Divinity (MDIV)
- Doctor of Ministry (DMIN)
CIU Grants and Scholarships
Through the faithful generosity of many friends and alumni, CIU is able to make available grants and scholarships. The Office of Student Financial Services will work with the student to determine the best overall financial package for the student.
* To qualify for CIU aid, a student must be enrolled full time.
* A grant is an entitlement that a student gets because of some accomplishment. A scholarship is awarded based on a student meeting the criteria or based on the scholarship being awarded.
* Students are eligible for any grant they qualify for, but they are only eligible for one (1) scholarship.
* In most cases CIU grants and scholarships will be applied to the cost of tuition and fees after all federal and state gift aid is first applied. This will leave the cost of room, board, books and incidentals up to the student and their family. Stafford and Parent (PLUS) loans are available to help cover these costs. Students may also use outside scholarships to cover these costs. To research outside sources, contact your high school guidance counselor, church, community organizations, and library. Links to searches for outside scholarships are available at Other FA Resources.
* There are only a certain number of these grants and scholarships available and they will be awarded on a first come basis. It is important that students apply to CIU early by completing their FAFSA and CIU Scholarship Application.
