Apply
Bloomsburg University Scholarship Application required; attach abstract as described in award criteria

Important Comments to Applicants:
# In addition to meeting specific criteria, applicants are expected to have demonstrated good citizenship as members of the university community.
# Any references to financial need require the student to have submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov .
# Any references to satisfactory progress or academic good standing refer to the policies outlined in BU's Guide to Financial Aid available online at www.bloomu.edu/aid and the University Catalog.
# When grade point average (GPA) is a requirement, the "overall" cumulative GPA earned at Bloomsburg University during the fall semester preceding the scholarship application deadline will be used unless otherwise specified in the award criteria.
# All information submitted is subject to verification by the Financial Aid Office and may be shared with Financial Aid Committee members, university faculty, deans, and other administrators as well as award donors to the extent needed to process the scholarship application.

Complete the Bloomsburg University Scholarship Application Form:
# If you are applying for several scholarships that involve the same dean/department chairperson, you may list those specific awards on the same application form. EXAMPLE: Meyer and Mildred Eaton Levitt Scholarship and Farber Foundation Memorial Scholarship may be listed on one application and submitted to Dr. Dennis Gehris, Dean, College of Business.
# If you are applying for several scholarships that involve different deans/chairpersons, a separate application must be submitted to each dean/chairperson. EXAMPLE: Charlotte Hess Memorial Scholarship (separate application to Dr. Charles Starkey), Norman Hilgar Scholarship (separate application to Dr. Mike Shapeero).
# IMPORTANT: If you are applying for one or more awards in the "General" category, which list Ms. Knauer, Financial Aid Office, as the "Return to" contact person, simply write "General" in the Scholarship Name section of the application. The Financial Aid Committee will consider you for all of the general awards that you may qualify for. You do not have to list the individual general scholarship names. Attach all additional information/recommendations required by the award criteria. Missing information will eliminate your application from consideration!
# Type or print legibly in ink, leave no items blank, attach all additional information required by the award criteria, sign and date each application. Incomplete applications will not be considered!

Submit a Valid Bloomsburg University Scholarship Application Form(s):

* Applications for the 2009-2010 Academic Year become available in November 2008 on STINF as well as in the Office of Financial Aid, Room 119 Student Services Center. Please Note: You must be currently enrolled at Bloomsburg University to obtain a scholarship application.
*IMPORTANT: All scholarship information MUST be submitted to the appropriate contact person prior to the scholarship deadline. Incomplete or unsigned applications and applications missing references or attachments required by the award criteria cannot be considered

Recipient Selection and Notification:

* Deans/chairpersons will recommend a recipient and two alternates for each award to the Financial Aid Committee.
*
The Financial Aid Committee will select awards listed under the "General" and "Veterans" categories unless otherwise noted.
*
The Development Office will notify upperclassmen recipients of their awards, usually in April.
*
The Admissions Office will notify new freshmen and new transfers of any scholarship eligibility during the admissions process.
*
Scholarship amounts will be credited to the recipients' fall 2009 semester University accounts unless otherwise noted.
*
Recipients are expected to attend an awards reception in the fall to accept their awards and meet award donors. The Development Office will send invitations to recipients.
