The Wood Group Scholarship offers £10,000 over four years along with paid summer placements and mentoring support.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who have accepted the offer of a place on one of the following courses at RGU will be eligible to apply for the scholarship:
MEng Mechanical Engineering UCAS H304
MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering UCAS H600
BEng (Hons)/MEng Mechanical Engineering UCAS H301
BEng (Hons)/MEng Mechanical and Offshore Engineering UCAS H350
BEng (Hons)/MEng Mechanical and Electrical Engineering UCAS HH36
BEng (Hons)/MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering UCAS H606
Selection Criteria
• Applications must meet the entry conditions of their UCAS offer from
The Robert Gordon University (RGU)
• Applicants should have formally accepted the offer from RGU
• Applicants should enrol in the first year of their chosen degree programme in September 2009
• Applicants should not be in receipt of any other academic scholarship monies during
their course of study
• Applicants should not have previously studied for a first degree
• No age minimum or maximum will be applied
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal characteristics.
In respect of personal characteristics, applicants should be able to demonstrate that they:
• Are enthusiastic, energetic and determined
• Have a strong commitment to self-development
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
• Take a proactive and committed approach to their education
• Are highly motivated
• Are keen to succeed, both academically and professionally
• Are aware of and have an interest in the energy industry
