Scholarships or student grants program description
For many years AET has provided scholarships to help people from Africa to undertake further and higher education and postgraduate courses in Africa or the UK. While the scope of this work has been greatly reduced, the Trust continues to provide a limited number of scholarships for African students to study in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and the UK.
In July 2005 the British Council and AET were commissioned by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to become responsible for the management of a new DFID Scholarship and Training Scheme for Sudan. Through this major new scheme the British Council and AET partnership will be responsible for making awards to international and local organisations which apply for funding to run scholarships and training programmes for Sudanese students.
