Program Description
The HSF/ BB&T Charitable Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial resources to outstanding Latino and African American undergraduate students at a four year university. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis with a potential internship opportunity with BB&T.
Eligibility Requirements
* Be of Hispanic heritage or African American
* Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
* Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
* Be a Junior enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., or Puerto Rico in the 2010-2011 academic year.
* Be majoring in Business, Legal or Liberal Art disciplines.
* Have a permanent or school address in: Alabama; Florida; Georgia; Indiana; Maryland; North Carolina; Kentucky; Puerto Rico; South Carolina; Tennessee; Virginia; Washington D.C.; West Virginia.
* AND/OR attend an accredited institution in the ABOVE locations.
* Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
