Scholarships or student grants program description

We fund two Divisional scholarships. Each scholarship meets course fees of £1000 regardless whether the applicant is an EU or Overseas citizen. This means that the fee charged on entry to the programme in September 2009 will be reduced by £1000. The money cannot be used for any other purpose.

Applications will be ranked according to academic merit. Award holders will be notified about four weeks before the programme commences.

Who can apply?

Applicants for a Divisional scholarship may be of any nationality but must have obtained an unconditional offer for a place on this programme for entry in the next academic year.

How to apply?

Send the following information with a covering letter:

1. A Curriculum Vitae with the following sections:
* Educational qualifications obtained since leaving school;
* Prizes or notable academic achievements;
* Employment history;
* Any additional information that would support your application.
2. A copy of all relevant transcripts supporting your application.
3. A statement of approximately 800 words. This should include:
* why a scholarship would help you;
* whether you wish to be considered for only a PSAS scholarship or only a Divisional scholarship or both;
* which modules of the MSc are of particular interest to you and why;
* what your career or educational aims are for the five year period after you graduate from the programme.

This statement must be on a separate sheet and should not be included in the CV.
4. A copy of the formal letter of unconditional acceptance by the University including the reference number.
