Offered By: The Charles Wallace Trust in India (through the British Council)

Last date for application - October 31, 2008

For Whom: Citizens of India intending to use their education in the UK in arts and hertitage conservation. Applicants must be between 25 and 38 years of age and must have had four years of working experience.

About the Award: The Charles Wallace Trust awards fifteen scholarships to practitioners in heritage and the arts so that they may have an edge in their respective fields. The award includes, but is not limited to practitioners in management and curatorship of the visual arts, practice of the visual arts, management of project sites etc. Awards are generally from three months to a maximum of one academic year.

Applications should include:
1. Completed application form, including a statement of purpose stating clearly what they want to do in the UK and how they plan to put this to use on returning to India
2. Supporting references
3. Acceptance letter from the course or programme in the UK to which they have applied or evidence that progress towards acceptance has been made
4. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of English
5. Portfolio submission in either on CD/DVD, slide or hard-copy format.
