The Department of Genetic Medicine and Regenerative Therapeutics has been setup by Tottori University to be a unique institution of its features pursuing medical science associated with gene and regenerative medicine. Tottori University is located in Yonago city of Tottori Prefecture which is present in a western part of Japan. We currently have the following position in our department.
Postodoctoral fellow position
The division of molecular and genetic medicine in this department invites the postodoctoral fellow. This division focuses on regenerative medicine and oncology in the field of hepatology. The postodoctoral fellow will work to identify effective approaches to differentiate human mesenchymal stem cells into functional hepatocytes using low molecular weight agents and transplantable cell sheets.
Eligibility
The postodoctoral fellow should have at least 4 years of molecular biological research experience and be an extremely motivated scientist with a MD or PhD in gene or molecular biology.
Three papers are listed as your references; (1) Yoshida Y, et al., Am J Physiol Gastrointest Liver Physiol 293, G1089-1098, 2007, (2) Shimomura T, et al., Hepatol Res 37, 1068-1079,2007, and (3) Ishii K, et al., entitled Hepatic differentiation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells by tetracycline-regulated hepatocyte nuclear factor 3 beta (Hepatology, in press)
The fellowship will start on April 1, 2009. The fellowship will be set annually, however it can be extended up to for 3 years.
