Announcement follows

We like to welcome you to the International Summer School ENERstore 2014 organized by the research cluster Combined Storage Systems Integration (CSSI) at Technische Universität Dresden. Under the title “Energy Storages for Sustainable Energy Supply” we invite international PhD-students and scientists to learn one week about different aspects of energy storage and establish a network among young scientist.

International lecturers present their latest findings in this field from different scientific perspectives:

Electrical Engineering

Information Technology

Mechanical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Economics


A tour into the laboratories of the Zentrum für Energietechnik (ZET), excursions and roundtables promise a growth in knowledge and presents the research network for energy storage technologies we have established in Dresden.

As the summer school is supported by the Ecellence Initative of the German Government we are happy to announce, that we can offer a limited number of full and partial grants for international students.

Requirements

ENERstore is an interdiciplinary summerschool and covers a wide range of themes connected with energy storage. Therefore researchers from different academic fields who focus their research on topics with connection to energy storage themes are invited to take part, like:

Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Computer Sciences
Economics
etc.

Explicit target group for this event are researchers, who are in an early stage of their academic career, such as PhD students, post-docs, and junior faculty, from all over the world. Outstanding master students in their final year and with the plan to write a PhD thesis in the field of energy storage are also encouraged to apply.

Participation is limited to 30 international participants.


In order to apply, please prepare the following documents as pdf-files:

One pdf (will be published in the hand-out of the summerschool):

§ your CV (expressive, but max. 2 pages)
§ your list of publications

Complementary pdfs (only used for the selection process):

§ letter of motivation (including the selection of workshop for the Friday session (see schedule))
§ Highest degree certificate (please upload a copy of your master's or PhD certificate)
§ If applicable, please upload a confirmation that you are a PhD student

The Interdisciplinary Summer School is funded by the Excellence Initiative Program launched by the German federal and state governments which supports eleven German “Universities of Excellence”. Therefore we offer excellent PhD-students scholarships.

Important note:

Accommodation costs of student participants are covered entirely by TU Dresden (single-room accommodation including breakfast) at two places (Mezcalero and Days Inn). Additional hotel reservations by participants are NOT necessary. if you prefer to stay somewhere else and if you book individually, costs for this accommodation cannot be covered.

Travel expenses can be refunded in individual case. If you need travel support please contact us. Travels need to be arranged individually and independently by the participants. The Summer School organisation committee does not arrange any travels. If you need support for your visa please contact us.

Registration fees for ENERstore are NOT charged for PhD and master students. Participants from industry and research institutes please contact us for the conditions: summerschool.ing@tu-dresden.de.
