Scholarship / Financial aid: few places available at a reduced tuition fee

Date: June/July 2010

Deadline: End of May 2010

Open to: anyone at postgraduate level working in a law-related environment

Announcement follows

Course Content and Structure
The course is an advanced course in European Law and is most suited to those with a prior knowledge of European Union law. It is also suitable for anyone at postgraduate level working in a law-related environment with an interest in European Union law. Though applicants with an academic background in law are ideal, this is not an essential pre-requisite to take part. The course is aimed at deepening and/or updating previous knowledge in EU Law. Each lecture will deal with certain selected issues which the lecturer deems of current relevance. The areas will therefore not be covered comprehensively, but selectively. The course is therefore also not suited to those who seek to further their doctoral studies in a particular area..

Course Fee
Tuition only: to be confirmed for 2010 (fee 2009: £675)
Tuition and (10 nights) Accommodation: to be confirmed for 2010 (fee 2009: £980)
A deposit of £50 is payable at initial reservation. This deposit will be refunded in the final invoice.

Booking Deadline
End of May 2010 or later subject to availability (please note the course was fully booked by mid May last year, with student places gone well before then)

Unfortunately this course is not supported by external funds, so additional financial help other than that mentioned below for full time students cannot be made available.
There are only a few places available at a reduced tuition fee for full time students (the accommodation fee cannot be reduced, it is charged at self cost plus an administration fee of £25). An original letter from your university must be submitted as proof at the time of booking. In addition please submit an academic reference and a personal statement. Early booking is advised. For paying instructions, paying deadline and how to pay please refer to the booking form.

Language
The course is taught in the English language and applicants should be comfortable with receiving academic lectures in English. Language ability will not be vetted but it is in your own interest that your standard of English is at an adequate level.
