Announcement follows

Slippery Rock University offers a Scholarship (financial aid) package in the form of a partial tuition waiver to all international students qualifying for admission. A separate application form is not necessary at the time of admission, but will be required each year of subsequent enrollment.

For undergraduate students, the 2009-2010 tuition waiver is valued at $5,555.00 (US) for the first academic year ($2,777.50 per semester). Thereafter, tuition waivers are awarded per semester at the following levels and are based on the cumulative QPA. At the conclusion of the first year of study, if the cumulative QPA is a 3.0 (B average) or higher, the estimated waiver amount of $2,777.50 per semester is retained. If the cumulative QPA falls below a 3.0, but is above a 2.5 (C+ average), the amount of tuition waiver is reduced to $1,805.50 (US) per semester. If the cumulative QPA falls below a 2.5 (C+), no tuition waiver is awarded.

For post-baccalaureate students (those who have already earned the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor's degree, but are still pursuing undergraduate studies), the tuition waiver is currently valued at $3,611.00 (US) for the first academic year ($1,805.50 per semester). Thereafter, the tuition waiver is awarded per semester and is based on the cumulative QPA. After the first year of study, if the cumulative QPA falls below a 3.0 (B), no tuition waiver is awarded.

International students are eligible to work on campus. Current wages are about $7.25/hour. Students can work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session and up to 37.5 hours over summer break and holiday periods. On campus employment is not guaranteed.
