The International Relations and Public Administration Department at the Faculty of Business and Administration at the International University of Sarajevo invites you to apply for their Summer School “Cross Continental - Interethnic Relations for Peace”.

The 2014 Summer School “Cross Continental – Interethnic Relations for Peace” is to be held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Target Group
We welcome all undergraduate and graduate students as well as applicants who have been away from education for some years. We invite applications from undergraduate and graduate students interested in the topics related to international relations, conflict analysis and resolution, peace research, security studies, preventing diplomacy, international law, sociology and ethnicity, from all countries. Although most of you will be currently enrolled at a university or college, we also welcome applicants who have been away from education for some years.

Certificate of participation and ECTS credits
The students will receive a certificate of participation after completion of the summer school. Furthermore, we will issue a statement regarding the number of ECTS credits we would assign to this course, based on the number of hours spent in class, preparation time and completed assignments. Your university can then evaluate this course and decide whether they will indeed award ECTS credits.

Summer School aims

Summer School “Cross Continental - Interethnic Relations for Peace” provides an opportunity to meet and study with people from different countries and cultures, on a cosmopolitan campus. The large range of lectures, class discussions, workshops, field visits and conferences focusing on comparative studies allows you to experiment with something new.

This summer school promotes active involvement of students in better understanding of each other's ethnic background and challenging existing myths and stereotypes between groups and within groups. This is great opportunity to contribute to the promotion of interethnic society values, opportunities and rights. As the summer school is based on dialogue and sharing experiences cross-continentally, it will also promote and support human development as well as increase cooperation and understanding between students from different parts of the world. It will also help in breaking down prejudices that exist between different ethnic groups.
